Enrique Calderón

Bio:
With more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Enrique Calderón has established himself as one of the sector's most accomplished and respected executives.
A native of Mexico City, Calderón earned a bachelor 's degree in Hotel Management from the Centro de Estudios Superiores de San Ángel (CESSA) and has completed executive training in sales management and negotiation.
Since February 6, 2015, he has served as Vice President of Hotel Operations at Posadas, leading the company's hotel operations division, which today includes more than 200 hotels.
Calderón began his career in a variety of hospitality roles, primarily in Food & Beverage, where he developed his passion for the industry. He later transitioned into sales, a move that proved pivotal in shaping his professional career and leadership trajectory.
Throughout his career, he has lectured and taught courses at leading academic institutions, including Tecnológico de Monterrey, IPADE Business School, and CESSA. He has also served on the boards of several prominent industry associations, including SITE and MPI, where he served as President from 2007 to 2008.
Calderón joined Posadas in 1999 as Director of Sales for Fiesta Americana Hotels, overseeing sales for 20 properties within the brand. He subsequently held a series of leadership positions, including Regional Director of Sales for Southern Mexico, Director of Key Accounts for City Hotels, and Director of Sales for Mexico. In these roles, he was responsible for the commercial strategy and oversight of sales teams across 80 hotels throughout Mexico, while managing the company's strategic accounts and driving business across the entire Posadas portfolio.
In February 2010, he was promoted to Corporate Commercial Director, assuming responsibility for revenue generation across all Posadas hotels and leading the commercial strategy for the company's portfolio of brands and markets. During his five-year tenure in the role, he delivered sustained double-digit revenue growth year over year.
Although based in Mexico City, Calderón is an avid traveler who frequently visits properties across the Posadas portfolio and explores new business opportunities in destinations throughout Mexico and the Caribbean.
