Bio:
With over 35 years in the hospitality industry, Gregory Day has been the President of hospitality for Mani Brothers Real Estate Group in West Hollywood for the past eight years. His portfolio includes the award-winning Malibu Beach Inn and Spa on Carbon Beach in Malibu, CA; the soon-to-be redeveloped nine-acre Embassy Suites hotel (expected completion January 2026) and the 120-acre Hāna-Maui Resort in Hawaii. He oversees 20 STR properties in and around the Los
Angeles area as well as all operations of the group’s luxury and lifestyle programming.
Day created and developed the hospitality division for Mani Brothers after the real estate group purchased Malibu Beach Inn in 2015. Day was instrumental in overseeing a complete remodel and re-conception of the property into the luxury product it is today, (including design by Waldo Fernandez). Day oversaw the purchase of the Embassy Suites Napa Valley and Travaasa Resort on Maui in short order which he has worked to concept, re-design and renovate. Embassy Suites
is currently under renovation and will be re-branded as a luxury soft-brand resort. Travaasa was re-branded as Hāna-Maui Resort and is managed under Hyatt’s Destination Resorts brand. In
addition to overseeing the company’s extensive STR property portfolio in the Los Angeles area, he continues to search for new acquisitions and development opportunities for the brand.
Partnerships orchestrated by Day include nationally and internationally recognized brands such as Alo, Bamford, Bellino Italian linens, Condé Nast Traveler (U.S.), Condé Nast Traveller (U.K.), LVMH, Orlebar Brown, Vosges Chocolate, Yolo Journal and WM Brown Magazine amongst others. Malibu Beach Inn is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World as well as a Virtuoso property and has since won multiple accolades including ten consecutive Condé Nast Traveler reader’s choice awards (currently #6 in southern California), ten consecutive Wine Spectator Awards for its CBC restaurant; Condé Nast’s Hot List (2017) and Gold List (2018 & 2023) and has enjoyed the #1 position on the World Travel Awards’ as Boutique Hotel in North America and California, respectively for the past four years.
Prior to joining Mani Brothers Real Estate Group, Day served as the General Manager of Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, CA for eight years, was a member of the Santa Monica Travel & Tourism board and was Chairman of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce. He
served for 5 years on the board of advisors for the Collins College of Hospitality Management at Cal-Poly University Pomona and was a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts serving in their Academy Circle.
Earlier in his career, Day worked for 14 years with Fairmont-Raffles Hotels International, in numerous capacities in multipule cities and countries.
